I-95 Toyota Tools & Equipment Grant

Every year, our team is thrilled to award an I-95 Toyota scholarship to a deserving student, this year we are honored to have two recipients. The recipient of the first I-95 Toyota Tools & Equipment Grant is Collision Repair Pathway Student Christian Sturdivant. Who was presented with his $500 I-95 Toyota Tools and Equipment Grant by Kenny Sims and Janel Schwartz on May of 2025, in Brunswick, GA. Cristian credits his Collision Repair classes for helping him realize his passion for cars. Cristian requested the grant to help him purchase both body repair tools and basic automotive repair tools. He was one of several classmates also accepting scholarship awards, and we extend congratulations to them, as well.

The recipient of the second i-95 Toyota Tools & Equipment Grant is Collision Repair pathway student Ethan Blount. Ethan has plans to possibly apply to Coastal Pines Technical College, but requested the grant to help him purchase basic automotive repair tools. Ethan placed 2nd in the regional SkillsUSA auto maintenance and light repair competition and top 10 at the state competition. Ethan hopes to obtain an apprenticeship to further his passion for mechanical work on cars or heavy machinery.

How the I-95 Toyota Tools and Equipment Grant Started

This Toyota scholarship was first conceived of in 2023 when I-95 Toyota of Brunswick decided to donate a percentage of its monthly car sales towards bettering the community. As such, it formed a relationship with GICCA, a well-known public charter school that prepares high school students for college and provides college programs to students of all ages with a focus on occupational disciplines.

This team-up would proudly make I-95 Toyota one of the Academy’s largest Forging Partners sponsors. While this scholarship doesn’t have a long history, we believe it will have a bright future as we aim to shine a spotlight on more young men and women with a passion for hard work and hands-on career paths.
